Cruise Ships - Rossport Harbour
Starting in 2023, various cruise lines started to include the Rossport area as part of their scheduled cruise offerings along the North Shore of Lake Superior. This is part of a developing and growing "adventure/expedition" cruise industry in Canada.
The ships tender their passengers into the Rossport Marina, which has been approved by Transport Canada with International Shipping and Port Security (ISPS) status, in order for passengers to visit the Village of Rossport and to take hikes along the Casques-Isles Hiking Trail.
The Rossport Marina earns a fee from the cruise lines for providing this service.
Some of the cruise ships also take their passengers to visit Battle Island to see the lighthouse while others also position themselves off the shoreline of Cooper Island in Steamboat Channel in order to take passengers in their submersibles to see the wreck of the Gunilda.
